Lock period

A month's time, checked and locked.

Each period gathers clock-ins, leave and corrections, and every hour traces back to a capture.

  1. Exceptions first

Missing captures, corrections and unauthorised overtime are flagged for review.

  2. Each timesheet

Ordinary hours, overtime and leave, employee by employee.

  3. Routine time in one go

Timesheets with nothing to review are approved together.

  4. Locked

A locked period cannot be changed, and a later correction is carried into the next one.

Clocking in, on the phone.

Staff scan the QR code at their site, and the app checks they are there.

  1. Scan the site's code

The code at each site changes every few seconds, so it cannot be passed around.

  2. On site

The app checks the phone is within the site's boundary.

  3. Checked in

The time goes straight into the period.

  4. Corrections

A forgotten clock-in or clock-out is raised from the app and reviewed.

Approved unpaid leave comes off pay. Approved timesheets pay hourly staff.

Questions about time and attendance

How does Global Kinect handle time and attendance?

Staff clock in by scanning their site's QR code on the mobile app, which checks they are on site. Each month's period gathers clock-ins, leave and corrections, flags exceptions for review, and is locked once approved. Approved unpaid leave and absence are deducted from pay, and approved timesheets pay the staff who are paid by the hour.

Can attendance come in from a system we already use?
Yes. Attendance data can come in by file, alongside the clock-ins from the mobile app.
Can someone clock in for a colleague?
The app checks the phone is at the site, and each phone is registered to its owner.
What happens to a correction after the period is locked?
It is carried into a later period as an adjustment, so a locked period never changes.
